Artisan Bistro

We were looking for someplace nearby to have lunch. We might normally have headed to Gigi’s in Lafayette but we were told it closed several months ago. Since we always enjoyed eating lunch on their patio, we decided to check out what had replaced it … plus, Judy had a good feeling about the new … [Read more…]

Enzo Comes East

Near the end of June and just before Judy and I moved to California, Bun, Colleen and Enzo visited Colleen’s family in Maryland, and Bun’s family in South Jersey. Most of these shots were taken at my brother’s home in Swedesboro. My mother Mary, bothers Joe, Bob, Dennis, and sister Jennie threw a going away … [Read more…]

Moving Day

I’ve  been working so hard disposing of “stuff” and unpacking at our new home on NoCal, I haven’t had a chance to post lately. But here is a quick video of moving day at 406. We are now comfortably ensconced in Nothern California where I am “rewiring” after 37 years at Temple University and 25 … [Read more…]

Last House Standing

Recently we were driving south on Rt 130, past the newly-eliminated Collingswood circle, when we looked to the left and were struck by what we didn’t see; most of houses on the 200 block of Cattell Avenue. If you’ve driven this route you may recognize it as the street-block anchored by an animal hospital and … [Read more…]

Happy Birthday, Judy

Sunday was Judy’s birthday … she is, hmm, 39.  In honor of this special day, we planned a fun outing in Philadelphia, beginning with a visit to the Philadelphia Museum of Art to see the Frida Kahlo exhibit, continuing with a cognac at the Ritz Carlton, and ending with a wonderful dinner at Mercato on … [Read more…]

Christmas in California

For the past decade or so, we have alternated Christmas celebrations on the East and West Coasts.  This year was an exception … a California Christmas was celebrated two years in a row.  And here is the reason why … ENZO … now a year and a half young.  I took many more photos than … [Read more…]

From Haddonfield to Gilmore’s in West Chester

This was our first trip to Peter Gilmore’s iconic French-American restaurant in West Chester, PA.  If we were a bit trepidatious about the Gilmore/LeBec-Fin connection and the “stuffiness” factor, our concerns were dispelled by our decidedly upbeat greeter, who I now believe may have been Peter Gilmores’s wife Susan.  This personal touch was reinforced both … [Read more…]
