Harvest Time in Napa

Harvest festival at Arger-Martucci

Harvest festival at Arger-Martucci

Today proved once again that in a former life I was a vintner, or at least a field worker. I can’t adequately describe why visiting wine country makes me so happy. It’s not just the wine tasting, it’s the whole wine experience, notably the ability to meet and talk with people like Kosta Arger, one half of the Arger-Martucci Vineyard duo that produces some of the best Pinot and Syrah in Napa. We spent nearly four hours at their small production winery (under 4,000 barrels), had a few appetizers and lots and lots of wine. Kosta (who is a cardiologist by day) is the gentleman at left.
